The route began on a bike trail then a fairly busy road through San Diego but before we knew it we were out of town and sizing up the mountains/hills up ahead,  just waiting for a pack of 21 women cyclists to climb them.  We of course obliged and ended up 2000 feet higher at the end of the day than from our beach beginnings.  The last climb was 3.5 miles long but pretty gradual and really not too bad.  The weather continued to cooperate so all in all it was a great riding day.  We're spending the night in Alpine, CA and are all pretty exhausted, planning an early to bed for tomorrow we will add another 1500 ft in elevation.  Here are a few more photos from the day, including one of our sag stops where we all replenished our food and water supplies.  I'll write more about the sag wagon one of these days.  See you tomorrow, internet service permitting....
