I rode solo for most of my 20 mile foray through the haze today - thought I was lost and found a woman on a lawnmower who assured me that I was not - phew! Off I rode anew until I came upon a barrier with a 'road closed' sign. As I was pondering what to do, Carolyn from Oakland rode up and said, 'this shouldn't be a problem' and she was right. It was rocky and sandy so we walked, following the bike shoe footprints of our predecessors.
