Hello from Silsby, TX on Good Friday!  Tomorrow at dinner we'll be celebrating another state line crossing with Margaritas as we leave our 18 day sojourn in Texas behind.  It's been such an eye opener for me who had only touched down in the state briefly prior to this trip.  Seeing a place in slow motion, courtesy of a bicycle has allowed me to get a really rich view of the place, with the ever happy to chat with you attitude of the Texan people.  And below is the perfect example of such in Mama Jack, the proud owner of an outstanding eatery that was fortunately recommended to us as a yummy lunch stop in Kountze, TX.   It was!  The catfish sandwich was to die for and Mama Jack was a delight.  Texas has been fun!  The terrain has been noticeably flatter the last couple of days.  Next post will be from Louisiana - the best to all of you until then.

  1. WoW Peg! Congratulations on making it through TX! I have always thought it was a big deal to make it all that way while driving on our past cross country treks. REALLY enjoying your daily details. You are definitely "smelling the roses". Love it, Donna
PS. I don't think it will be too difficult the find some good dancing in LA.
